Elementary school on the Tempelhof Field

Dear visitors to the homepage of the elementary school on Tempelhofer Feld. I am Olaf Garbe, the headmaster of this school, and I warmly welcome you. We present the school to you on the next few pages. Read, look, and learn. I hope you enjoy it. Discover the possibilities a primary school offers your child: sports, theater, computers are just a few of the key points. We are proud of our school, of our neighborhood and the children who, after attending primary school, successfully master the rest of the way to school. None of this would be possible without close cooperation with the parents. 590 students are currently attending our school. You learn in 24 classes. In the early school phase (SAPh) there are eight learning groups. All are taught homogeneously. That is, there are four first grades and four second grades. A total of 100 children go to school every year. Our school has been expanded to include four sections. There are six learning locations: The flying classrooms (7 classes) The new building (6 classes) The upper west wing and the teacher's room (4 classes) The entire east wing (7 classes) The west wing (school castle area) The cafeteria, the gym, rooms for science, music, art and two computer rooms 42 teachers and 30 educators are employed at our school. We have a very good cooperation with the NUSZ, which organizes the Open Full Day (OGB). We are also pleased about the very good cooperation with our three special educators, our school psychologist and our curative educators. Warnhoff Catering offers a very good lunch every day. The children can choose between an organic meal and a vegetarian meal. The food has to be tasty and the children have to be satisfied. Our secretaries, Ms. Niemann and Ms. Engler, are very committed and are always competent to answer your questions and make appointments with the school management. Our caretaker takes care of structural measures very carefully. Finds are kept for four weeks. We are proud of our school! Even if the toilets urgently need to be refurbished, the children at this school feel comfortable. Parents are committed to helping develop the school. Testimonies are the theater week, the football festival, the school newspaper and the school castle's leisure concept. The 2020/2021 school year will be a very special one, as it is dominated by the corona pandemic. We support all measures that lead to containment of the virus, work according to a hygiene plan developed for the school and have developed a concept between classroom teaching and saLzH (guided learning at home). The appropriate technology was purchased for this purpose during the summer holidays. The teachers received further training in the school cloud (learning platform) and in conducting a video conference. We are always happy to receive suggestions for the further development of the school.
