JSWD Architekten GmbH

The JSWD office was founded in 2000 by Jürgen Steffens, Olaf Drehsen and the brothers Konstantin and Frederik Jaspert. The four partners completed their architecture studies at RWTH Aachen. After graduating, they parted ways and went to the offices of Günter Behnisch, Schuster Architects and Volkwin Marg (gmp). However, the desire for self-employment was great, so that in addition to teaching, they soon founded their own offices. After several years of successful participation in competition procedures, the offices WJD Architects and Jaspert & Steffens Architects merged to form JSWD Architects in Cologne. Today, around 150 employees from 30 nations work at Maternusplatz, who have built more than 50 buildings in Germany and other European countries since the office was founded. In cooperation with architectural offices in France and Luxembourg, in the USA and in China, JSWD find further architectural, technical and intellectual inspiration and cultivate a partnership-based exchange when realizing joint building projects.
